I've no objections to translations being made of my tools, provided that the copyright bits etc are retained (even if they are translated).
I have an unissued tool called 'debabelizer' that is successfully running on all of the 2D Tools, but with only a Spanish 'lingvo' file at the moment [it's a bit like Fredo's .lang files] - this method could ease the translation process for you and others - all of the text strings go into 'lingvo' files - paired ENglish<==>FRench or ENglish<==>CHinese etc - and there is a straightforward way to use a class based db(text) tag for any text within the script. You'll have a set of localized 'lingvo' files for each particular tool and the one that suits your language is used IF it's found - otherwise the default is ENglish...
I am updating ExtrudeEdgesByRails at the moment... so please wait a few days before doing anything as text might change etc... I might try to 'debabelizer' it at the same time...

Hi, I give you my permission to translate my scripts with some simple conditions:
You may not sell my scripts.
I would like you to put a link back to the original plugin here on the SCF, so that if a user finds the script on your site, they can also link back to the original english edition if they would like.
And also post the link to the Chinese version in each plugin thread here on the SCF. Then I'll add that link at the beginning of each plugin thread, near the download script file, so french users can see it, and go to your site to download it.
Please don't modify things other than the language. If you do find bugs, or things to change, please let me know first so I can change the English version too.
This agreement is only between you and me (and your friend who is helping). It is not an open agreement for anyone else to transtlate and/or host my scripts without asking me first.
And you can post on your forum that you are translating with the author's permission. I'm excited to see the plugins translated to Chinese.
Great, I'm excited to see you begin to post links to my translated scripts.
Good idea. Some of my scripts can normally be translated with a separate text file for each language.
It normally supports double bytes characters as I have already got the translation in Japanese and Korean. However, nobody did it in Chinese.
I would suggest you try with RoundCorner and LibFredo6. See instructions in the LibFredo6 documentation at http://forums.sketchucation.com/ ... lit=plugin#p144178.
Please send me the files (xx_ZH.lang) located in the subfolder of each script.
I think this needs some retesting, because double-bytes strings have some side effects when using Ruby comparison.
Note that my publsihed scripts are free, but cannot be distributed commercially (at a fee), and cannot be modified without my consent.
Finally, and because they are free, you'll understand that I won't contrubte financially to the translation.
